Couple’s Legacy of UA Giving Lives On
When Lou Edith “Luda” Soldwedel passed away in April at the age of 90, Luda and her late husband Donald’s life-income gifts converted to endowments supporting several areas on the UA campus.
The endowments named in their honor benefit the following UA areas in perpetuity: the College of Humanities Writing Skills Improvement Program, School of Journalism, Eller College of Management, Arizona Health Sciences, and an endowed scholarship in Arizona Athletics.
Endowments can fulfill a donor’s wish to support students, faculty, or programs year after year.
For each endowment, the Soldwedels designated a leading UA program to determine the highest and best use for the funds. Thus the UA can respond as needs change and technology advances.
