The Witts Provide Support to UA in Perpetuity
Samuel and Winifred “Quiggy” Witt were strong supporters of Southern Arizona charities during and after their lives. To provide a fixed income for her lifetime, Quiggy Witt established a charitable gift annuity with the University of Arizona Foundation after the death of her husband, a founding member of the Southern Arizona Homebuilders Association and local builder. Sadly, Quiggy passed away in 2010, but her gift annuity and an estate gift have bestowed more than $4.6 million in support to the University of Arizona.
The Witts' estate gifts established three endowments that benefit, in perpetuity, medical student scholarships, a faculty member at the College of Medicine and cancer research. A gift was also given to the Eller College of Management to restore the McClelland Hall courtyard.
